I saw your post the other day and I am sorry you if you feel you have not been supported. However please understand that you purchased your product on Ebay and so you are not the original purchaser and therefore do not have a support contract. We would be happy to help you get the system up and running and can offer you an annual support contract so you can have a great experience with our product.

    Kind Regards

    Alex,

The Aurora supports both SAS and SATA 7200RPM or 15K. We Support RAID 6 on all configurations and depending on the drives used can show over 3000MBps in a single 24 drive RAID. We do support DPX File format and have many customer working in this format currently. We also have a complete interoperability lab at our office in Minneapolis and have several systems in house including Autodesk, Iridas, Scratch, Digital Vision, Avid and others. We would need to talk more about your workflow but I see no problem being able to put something together for you that will meet your needs. Take a look at our Website under the Aurora product line and let me know if you would like to talk more.

Depends on what you feel is inexpensive, we developed a product and released it last year for the film industry. The product is called the Aurora and a single 24 Bay raid can support your 3 streams of 2K along with 8 channels of 8GB FC allowing you to connect all your systems directly to the Raid with out having to deploy a Switch. We have developed some turnkey SAN’s for exactly what your talking about and would be happy to get a better understanding of your workflow and provide you with a quote to see if it fits your price point.

Its not a silly question at all, we take more support calls on our SAN because people dont ask first before the act. You can hook it up either way it all comes down on the performance your looking for, what your array is capable of doing, how may volumes you want to present to the network, how your going to be sharing the volumes and so on and so forth. For your long term sanity pick a partner that has expertise and can support you for the long hall. Believe me down time will cost you more in the long run. I have been supplying customers with SAN’s for well over a decade and I have seen it all. Good luck let us know if you need any help.

    Ramy,

The answer to your question is yes/however. We would need to know more about your workflow and what your trying to accomplish. There are several ways to share data to a single point of storage using FCP and Avid and then it get a bit more limited when you bring in the Protools. We have many clients running all three applications with in a shared storage solution and will be happy to get you some ref sites if need be.
