    Hi

I feel your pain. Whenever I have had an issue like this. I close every program I can, save the project and shut down. Leave everything for 10 minutes and start up and try again, with no instructions other than the export. Sometimes this can come from overheating and an overnight shutdown can help. I am no expert, but these things have worked for me. Good luck.

Thanks for your response. It is the entire 10 minute show that I was trying to place a 24f timecode on since everything in the show is 24f. I was placing timecode by putting a 0 opacity title track over the picture and dragging matrox timecode onto that track but don’t know where to tell it to be 24f or 23.98f. I’m just here in my sandbox feeling dumb.

October 6, 2011 at 4:29 pm in reply to: What’s the best monitoring device for Premiere?

    Hi John

I am no techie so verify elsewhere but I have 5.5 and use Matrox M2OX Max. I have an outboard JVC DT-V24L1 broadcast monitor with a DVI input. I use an HDMI out from the Matrox (on a cable HDMI one end and DVI the other)and everything works yummy. I have one of the recommended nVidia cards and this gives me output to the JVC and a program image on my editing computer monitor. If I just knew how to edit…

    Cheers

    Hi

I think it is four. I am in the middle of a project on 5.5 using three cams and it is a romp – very easy to do and I am no techie. The good news is go through the piece picking your angles, even if not exactly on your cue points, then go back through adjusting the visuals, (leaving the track alone of course). Anyway it is a great feature.

I have recently cut a half hour video on a Dragon Boat Festival where 7 different cameras were used, including extensive footage with a Canon 7D and that mixed on the timeline with HDV, full up EX1R 1920x 1080, GoPro 1920×1080 and some time lapse on a Nikon DSLR. NO PROBLEMS! All this with Premiere Pro CS5 on a system of ASUS P5B-Plus Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 8G DDR-2 – 1066, 320 SATA hard drive w/ 16M cache, Radeon X-HD2600PRO 512M Video card, Matrox RTX2 w/ Adobe CS-5. I’m no techie, far from it, (in fact the last 3 lines are Greek to me), but it all worked just fine including output through Encore. I’ve made and sold over 200 copies all over the world without a hitch. So I’d say if you meet this standard, which is not all that high, you have no worries. I have since gone to Matrox MX02 Mini Max and Nvidia 4000 card, which I would recommend because they will boost your performance. Fear not, Adobe is with thee.

December 20, 2010 at 6:04 pm in reply to: Two 23″ inch monitors or one 30″ monitor

I have two 28 inch Viewsonic monitors which work great. I keep all but the preview monitor on the left and enlarge preview on the right and/or use the right for multi-tasking. I have not been able to have my outboard JVC HD monitor incorporated but will now with the addition of an Nvidia Quadro 4000 and a Matrox MX02 MiniMax. It’s a lot of real estate but it works well for me.

July 29, 2010 at 2:07 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas – 64 bit / 32 bit performance

I am having a problem with my outboard JVC pro monitor and Vegas 9 set-up. I bought a Blackmagic Intensity card so that I could have two computer monitors for editing and an output for the JVC to see video. But the JVC picture quality is set by the Vegas preview window settings (full, half, good, best) and the picture is jittery, unlike any outboard monitor I have ever seen, including this system with Premiere. I cannot see an edit properly unless it is rendered which is completely unacceptable. I cannot believe that all Vegas users are putting up with this. I have Vegas 9e 64bit on an Intel 2QuadCPU Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz with 8 Gigs ram and ATI video card. If I must, I will give up my second computer screen. Thanks in advance for your advice.

  • Hi

I am no expert but I’ve seen quite a number of times where folks have said that 9e version is the answer and that 9d had issues. It’s a freebie, so why not upgrade to 9e. It would appear that you have nothing to lose and it may be the solution…just saying.

July 13, 2010 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Importing footage from a BPAV file

I am jumping onto your thread since you are merely millimeters away from my issue. I am trying to import selected clips from the clip browser, that have been saved to a hard drive, to my project media. No problem, except that it will only allow me to do one at a time and I have 20 hours of material. Ouch! This will take FOREVER. When I select multiple clips and hit “Open”, I get a new folder with only one of the clips in it and have to press “Open” once more for it to go into project media. I want to multiple select and have the collection of clips, from one BPAV, go all at once. I shot on a EX1R and am using Vegas 9. I’d appreciate your advice. Many thanks.
