You probably follow the Canon Instructions any way.

But, always clean lens during shooting in any case, you can manually clean dust of sensor in any case by following Instruction manual, otherwise back to Canon for Service ??????????

Just shot 400 clips and HD 1920 x 1080p in Tasmania no problems.

LED’s are old technology , mainly an advantage for backlighting, however, a 1920x 1080p Sony Bravia HD has backlighting and for a top line Tv I cannot see any difference, but, he may have better eyes.

I always use 1920 x 1080i in stills or 1800 to fit between safe margins. You may not need high quality for the web but, definitely for a TV at 46″ or greater or screen projection See our web site

Check out video clips for Hong kong, Taiwan , Korea etc , shot on a Canon 5 D Mark II at 1920 x 1080p, top quality is not needed for web design.The video has been downsized for internet transmission.

I have used this camcorder in High Definition 1920 x 1080p Cinema Mode for over 3 years and as a VTR to Export to Tape from Morrocco, France, Belgium, Tibet, China and New Zealand,the tape quality is equal to the XHA-1 the Canon XA 10 may be the way to go ?

I do a lot of 400 or maybe a 1,000 still image presentations and use the RAW images created out of a Canon 5D mark II and converted to jpeg leaving the dpi and converting the width from say 3900 pixels to 1800 pixels in Photoshop in Processing multiple images. Then import into Premiere Pro as Automate to Sequence that automatically inserts the dissolve transition, it does it in seconds.

The quality on a Sony HD Bravia 46″ is at 1920 x 1080i widescreen 16 :9 High Definition, none of the original image is compromised if you Export to professional tape or Blu-ray.

The reason I use 1800 pixels is because the image fits between the Safe margins in Premiere Pro and you do not crop any of the image.

It may be a good idea to phone Canon Technical Services. However, we also have used a Rode Stereo mike on a Canon 5D mark II for over 18 months which uses CF memory cards to record H.264mov files/clips at 1920 x 1080p @38.5 mbps with a Microsoft limitation of 12 minutes for continuous recording which you may need at a wedding, it is very good indeed.
The XHA-1 records to tape at 1440 x 1080p with a HDV/mpeg-2 codec @ 25 mbps professional. using the latest CS5 Premiere Pro this can be mixed on the timeline, but, you will need a powerfull computer to Adobe Minimum Specifications to run this editing, say a i7 64 bit, Quad Core with a Nvidia Quadro FX3800 Video card.
As far as i know the new Vixias are 1920 x 1080p High Definition @ 25 mbps to Hard Drive or SD with an AVCHD codec which can be handled by CS5.
I pesonally cannot see much difference between the High definition formats in quality.But, you may have to downgrade to SD as many clients may not have Blu-ray. ? So the difference in the cameras may not matter that much.

Ps. Using a small camcorder regardless of quality may not impress wedding clients too much ?
Editing HDV or standard Definition digital from tape based camcorders has been relatively straight forward. Not so 1920 1080p AVCHD or H.264 mov clips or similar untill now with CS5 or similar editing software,but, you will need a i7 64 bit computer ?

Yes, save to a new project. It could be a blip between CS5 and the i7 computer 64 bit OS and approved video card ??????????????? you have probably defraged and run a disc check ? I would imagine you are running CS5 on a Quad Core with the minumum Adobe requirements ?

Depends which one it is,all are AVCHD which may cause compatibility issues with the Professional tape based XHA -1 re: editing . If it is the Canon Vixia HV40 tape unit it will have no issues as it will be using same codec as the Professional XHA-1. personally the Vixia will not look as professional as the XHA-1 at a wedding and the audio will not be as good , nor maybe the low level light performance.
Not worth the risk ?

A mystery, did you manually save after each render, not automatically ? Try saving as a new project after render and see what happens ???????????????
Good luck, you may have accidentally emptied the Media Cache ????????.

Using an i7 Windows professional computer has happened at times not XP ?
