Cut off the attenuators both sides of mike, have had no problems at 20 feet, used for 3 years, surf , water lapping at 50 feet, great, if windy use fur.Jazz band at 30 feet just right. even band leader talking at same distance in room, fine..

My older version of Premiere Pro 1.5.1 will generate a m2t file when you export to tape, however, an m2t file reintroduced into PP will not be recognised. But, an m2t clip can be imported into Premiere Elements 4 and accepted, then it can be Exported to Movie as an Microsoft avi , uncompressed and opened up in PP, this is on a PC.

I’d not use the trimmer window, put the clip straight onto the timeline, and go from there ??????????? There should not be an issue there, but, i use a NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800, maybe the video card but, I doubt it.

I am a Premiere Pro person and the monitor is at Best/Full all the time, however I did notice that in Vegas Platinum Studio 11 the definition in the monitor window changes occasionally when editing HD 1920 x 1080 and goes to half mode which degrades the video in comparison to the timeline which is always BEST. The processed video appears to be at broadcast resolution though, ie., to archival tape or Blu-ray disc.
I am impressed with the Sony product as the Image Stabilization effect and handling of AVCHD and H.264 clips is very fast.

I was using a 6 year old version of Premier Pro and it did not like the i7 64 bit, but, performs faultlessly using Virtual PC and even faster on a Quad Core set up. ?????????

Nice set up,I have a i7 XEON Quad Core 64 bit with 12GB RAM & Nvidia Quadro FX3800 & raid 0 here with mainly Premiere Pro , need to upgrade as I shoot a lot in H264 mov HD Video 1920 x 1080 p which Sony Vegas handles 2.5 times faster than Adobe in a 32 bit application,? but CS5.5 does not have Stabilizer like Sony Vegas 11 or 10 Pro, is there much difference?

I have pretty much mastered the Vegas 11 and the stabilizer in it is very good, even though I may not use it much. Thanks for advice re slide production, it was a breeze in Premiere Pro.

Ps: I found the Slide Show creator under Insert, it is automatic.

Hi Jorgen,

You should be able to run both programs on an i7 computer 64 bit, but, I would recommend that you install Windows Virtual PC so that the 32 bit software would run in XP mode , otherwise parts of the interface windows and files may exit the program. I had this problem with Premiere Pro 1.5.1 which is 5 years old & a 32 bit application, now it works better than ever.

I think I have nailed it, but, is there an easy way of putting a dissolve transition automatically between 800 stills on the timeline as in Premiere Pro or Elements ?
