So I opened some of my clips in VLC, and QuickTime was indeed the issue. That’s very strange, and really annoying!!! Plays in VLC just fine. Thank you so much for pointing that out… sometimes you never know what could be the issue, I’d like to just assume that things like QuickTime should work as they should, because of the nature of where it came from.

What do you recommend? I use quicktime just because it’s convenient on my work mac… I think I may have VLC player installed, maybe.

  • The ship look like it was composited pretty well, as far as being obscured by haze in the distance. The rotation animation of the ship looked like 1 fps when the camera zoomed in though, not sure if that was on purpose.

Also, the movements that you put into the camera, I would probably add a little rotation too to give it more of a natural feel.

If you look up the QHQ Stop Motion tutorial, and download his scripts, (follow the tutorial, it’s literally required to use the scripts the right way).

If you just set up the Glitch Camera, and Stop Motion layers, you can make a really good looking camera jitter that is natural. Just set the Glitch Camera to your native FPS.

Inside the Stop Motion layers, find the “AUTOMATIC” settings for the positioning and rotation, and change the expression near the end to /8 or /10 instead of /3. That way it is a little slower.

  • Alright… so I ended up fixing the issue by exporting the non-time remapped version, importing the exported video file, and time-remapping that instead, and the letters stayed set in the scene like they should.

  • I guess I don’t mean out of sync so much as the text tracking is incorrect after the fast forward section.

  • I had this issue several times yesterday when I was trying to line up spanish narrations with text on a video. It doesn’t help that I don’t even know the language, let alone can’t scrub my audio >:(

At least I know it’s a bug and not my work mac, it was making me paranoid.

  • Slightly off topic, but at first I thought you were serious, and then I got the joke.

    Literally laughed out loud.

  • Cleared out the cache’s, and that seemed to do the trick! Awesome!

Thank you so much for the help. Was definitely racking my brain all morning.

    I have version. 12.2.0.52

One thing that for me I always have to check that I’ve deselected all my layers before I export into a C4D file. Otherwise, that is very strange. Recently I made a simple 3d camera track, and created a camera and a solid, which I then exported out as a c4d file. The camera and the solid were both there in Cinema just fine.

Is this question completely stumping people, or am I not explaining it well enough? I just want to make sure I’m doing everything possible to find a solution. Thanks guys!
