A couple of quick checks before you get too deep…First check to see if your scratch disk accidently got changed to your system drive. Make sure that the canvas is scaled to the video. Click “fit to window” in the left pull down at the top of the canvas.

Select the timeline in your browser then Modify/Timecode, this will let you change the starting timecode for your sequence.

You might want to check to see if an imperceptible motion effect was accidently applied, a slow vertical movement will do exactly what your’e describing.

If you break your sequence into two halves, it should speed things up.

In your browser, highlight all of the clips that you want to change, then go over to the anamorphic column and control click on the same line as one of the highlit clips. A dialog box will appear with the choice of yes or no, click yes and you’ll be good to go.
There’s a lot of attributes that can be changed directly from the browser, it’s quite handy

Also, if the stills you are importing are too large, FCP isn’t the best choice fore scaling them, especially when you get south of 50%.

If all else fails, you can always play the .wmv file out to tape, then digitize it back into FCP. Steve hasn’t figured a good way to encrypt the good old fashoned analog signal yet.
