Hey Peter,
Thanks for the help. Changing the color space to SLog2 did solve the problem! Now if we can just get the DP to shoot it the same way each time! Thanks Again

Hey Peter,
The attached image is a side by side view of the file in the Sony RAW VIEWER. The left side is “After” the right side is “Before”. When I import into CC I always get the “After” version and I am trying to get the FLAT “Before” version. It appears as if CC is importing with “The Look” and not FLAT. The smallest file I have is 2.5 gigs. What would be the best way to get you a test file?BILL

Mastering to DNxHD from PP. Using DNxHD as source to encode to whatever, the gamma of the resulting encoded file is different than the original. The amount of Gamma adjustment is different based on what encoder might be used but it appears no matter what that the Gamma has been adjusted.

The intent is to use the file as the “House Master” which all other files will be “Dubbed”(I’m an Old School Guy) from. Currently when using DNxHD with any encoder the resulting file has had its Gamma adjusted, we have tried every setting possible and cannot seem to get a clean file.

Are you using a Third Party encoder other than Compressor or Flip-For-Mac? Say not an Apple product? If so what is it?

Thanks for the responses, however I’m not sure that I can agree that the info provided by “Movie Inspector” in QT-PRO is incorrect or of no importance. As stated in previous post “If you open the file in QT-PRO and export from QT-PRO using current settings the result is a file that is correct @ 59.94” the file resulting from this process run through the same encoding process using the same encoder “Rhozet Carbon” works just fine. This tells me that perhaps there is some metadata embedded in the file from Final Cut Pro that presents itself differently to editing applications than it does other applications such as Rhozet Carbon. Any thoughts?

I have selected various codecs for my “Reference” QT including DVCPRO-HD. I just double checked the path again using the DVCPRO-HD codec with the same results. QT Pro will play the audio from the reference file on the PC but will not play the video. What software might you be thinking of?

The QT reference I created on 1 Mac with FCP will play on a totally different Mac, without FCP installed, as long as it also sees the SAN as a local drive. Also this process in reverse, create QT reference on PC with AVID and it will playback on a Mac as long as both machines see the SAN as a local drive. All the machines in this test are loaded with the last release of QT PRO. Any Ideas?
Thanks
BILL
