I have never experienced audio being off by the amount you are saying, but I have noticed audio in my render being off by a couple frames. I never had any audio sync issues before upgrading to cs3. I noticed differences in sync depending on which output format I rendered to. I normally do uncompressed avi.

Theres a number of factors that could be at work here. Do you have the ‘null frames’ option enabled in Lagarith? With screen captures especially, there might be a lot of null frames with that option enabled, and After Effects might not know how to handle them properly.

Also, could it be that you are using a higher resolution video than normal? Your pc might just be having some trouble playing it back if thats the case.

I doubt this will be of any help, but I tried the demo of nucleo pro 2 and found that it would crash everytime it loaded. I was using windows vista at the time, and experiencing general instability and problems with a number of applications. I switched over to XP x64 edition, and then the nucleo pro 2 demo worked just swell. I’m not really sure if it was a problem with windows vista per se, but perhaps just some file or setting somewhere deep in the system was screwed up.

Well, I’m not planning to set up a complex scene or anything. I don’t think you understand the problem though. In the 2d view, there is literally NO depth, and I’m not sure how to switch from something like that to a 3d scene. It’s more complicated than just showing the front of the scene, and then flipping the camera around to the side.

For instance, if you build a scene in 3d, lets say you have one box back in the distance, and another box in the foreground. The boxes can be the exact same size, but in a 3d view, one of them will appear larger than the other because it is farther away from you. In the 2d view though, they should always appear exactly the same size though, because the concept of “farther away” doesn’t exist. Does that make sense?

Ok I have sort of solved the problem, but not really…

It seems that the layers only are not updated if they are a single frame long. If I adjust their length to 2 frames or more, then they update perfectly fine! Of course, I had them trimmed down to 1 frame length, because I didn’t want them any longer than that :\

Well first, I would recommend using 64-bit vista or xp if you want to use your full 4gb of ram. On a 32-bit operating system, it can access about 3.2GB at most.

That said, vista itself is a lot bigger and more bloated than xp is, and that could eat up a few hundred MB of your ram in itself. Also, early reports are saying that the upcoming service pack 3 for windows xp makes it significantly outperform vista at many tasks.

That said, I’m running Vista 64-bit myself. I don’t particularly like it, but I also don’t hate it enough to want to go through the trouble of switching back to XP.
