Yeah, I saw it too, got all excited and opened Compressor, and….no, there aren’t any export options for WMV. Maybe someone can clarify how this is done.
Justin, the only way I have found to do this is to clear the marks on all clips (unless you’re just looking for durations of marked segments) and throw em all in a new timeline and check the duration. You can right click and get timing info for each clip, but not a bunch at once AFAIK.
This might be obvious, but are you using Windows Media Player 9 to play it back? Flip4Mac exports to v9 .wmv files and if you have an earlier version, it might not play it.
You can also batch export by selecting the sequences in a bin and right clicking, selecting batch export. It completely bypasses Compressor and does everything in FCP.
Chalk one up for the Cow! Tim Wilson is an asset for any company—now that he belongs to the COWmunity, he will be an even bigger resource! I owe Tim a lot for his assistance on my Avid books and for answering some really difficult questions that readers wanted to know. Welcome, Tim!
It depends on what you were doing when you encountered the error. There are different instances of it; one when doing a digital cut; another when launching the software; and yet another when accessing the media manager. Go to Avid’s website under support and access the knowledgebase. Do a search for Exception: Stuctured Exception and you will find the solution to all three of these errors.
Sounds like you are clicking on an alias. Find the Film Composer application and double click on it. The terms “Trillium” and “PIM” are not in the Avid Knowledgebase, which pretty much has every form of Avid error listed.
