BINGO, We have the slacker. I guess I need to leave the NAS to archival, eh?

Ok, mental note: Use local transfers to get a guaranteed speed.

    – Thanks for your help guys…

    I think I may have found it…
I had originally setup my scratch drive as a gigbit network drive, and I think all the footage is over there, not on my media drive…

I noticed a huge spike in network activity on playback…

I am transferring the data now…

Yeah, its all on the Sata drive.

Should I try moving it all to the primary drive? seems like that would be worse…

Thanks for the response. I did what the mentioned website said, even rerendered some of my graphics to match the project/seq format, and it seemed to render better.

What can you tell me regarding speed internally (ie scratch drives, firewire vs other drive formats, memory, CPU utilization, etc?) I house all my footage over a gigabit NAS, and it worked usably on the PC, even pushing P2 info, but seems a bit sluggish on the MAC.

I am looking into getting the tech tools that Rafael mentioned, but is there a free alternative?

Thanks so much for the help. This forum has been a lot of help already!
