That’s great to know.

Pre-rendering probably wouldn’t work since we’ll be adjusting timings and other specifics on the Project A comp after it comes into Project B.

(We make animated explainers, and we don’t want to have to manually add things like eye-blinks in every project.)

I would try using the Color Replace effect (under Keying). If you need to limit the area where black is replaced with blue so that it only affects the text and not lots of other black stuff elsewhere on the screen (I didn’t watch your footage so I don’t know), you can use a 4-point Garbage Matte to combine a version of the footage with the Color Replace on it and a version that’s unaltered.
