    i’m in boston, i hear blackbar all the time at different edit rooms. we also say wicked a lot too, lol.

    awesome, I just wanted to make sure, I will blackbar my spot to make it 4×3 on my dv tape, before getting it transferred.

    if you have a TS folder, you can just click burn, point it to that folder, and it’ll burn the contents.

    if u really wanted to get fancy, i guess one could copy the ts folders onto your harddrive, and use dvdsp to burn too

    get a camera, play the shot out to a tv, and re-record it off of the tv!

    I had 5 grand or so to put it together. The digital grading added some great grain and texture. We shot it 720n for the real slow mo effect. The non-graded version just isn’t that dynamic to look at, the nattress effects let us really get into the different tones to boost certain levels.

    yeah, christmas lights, a girl, someposterboard. We did build a little set for the lights in a conference room that we got access too, I wish we coulda built it bigger, but, hey, next time!

    also…most film festivals only require a dvd-r for screening….maybe betaSP. i’ve taken many dvcam masters to do a beta dub, and they always look great. Stay cheap until you need to get expensive. by the time sundance calls, you’ll have the budget for anything you need….hopefully. heck, my last film was screened on VHS of all formats at a fairly decent festival!
