I have used p2 card stuff twice, both pretty flawless. are you on a mac? I simply plugged the camera in firewire, dragged the p2data off the cards to a folder (both the txt file and the folder) then used the p2import plugin in FCP to get the data into FCP.

i’ve currently transfered over 30 full p2 cards on set, and havent lost (knock on wood) a shot yet.

sometimes it helps to lower one of your “mono-stereo” tracks a little bit, it kinda makes it sound like stereo, sorta.

I hate trailers that I can see the “trailer formula on”

do something different. get people excited. scare people, make them laugh. watch youtube videos of people sitting in there bedrooms doing nothing, but have 100,000 hits, and figure out why.

it may also help to take your favorite film, or one that you hate, and cut a trailer for it. I did that a LOT in school. If you can amrket a movie that you despise, then you would be an awesome trailer editor.

you need lots of action figures. i prefer ninja turtles. i cannot edit without an action figure. I cannot stress this enough. when you have a crap director or producer over your shoulder, sometimes its easiest to explain things using the action figures as models, cause there actors blow and can’t deliver a line to save there lives.

oh wait…thats the project I am working on right now.!!! thank god for leonardo.

sometimes its good to get people who know nothing of theproject to watchit, and see if what you are trying to do, works.

people can only watch something once.

you may have better luck in iphoto…i think you can render out a sequence with page peel effects between each photo. especially if you arent that fcp/graphic savvy

while I wouldn’t consider myself an idiot, this is somethign I shot for no money, and just want to make it look like nighttime, it doesnt have to be perfect, it’s goign to live on youtube.com at it’s best.

the entire video is going to be black and white, if that makes it any easier.

    i agree, return it.

however, are you using the brand new power cable with it? I tried using an old cable, with a new drive the other day, and it acted all funky. (i was too lazy to get behind my desk) once I used the cable supplied, which was slightly different, all was fine.
