I have the same issue with the default Ease Amount. I just sent FCPX Feedback to Apple and referenced this thread so hopefully 10.1.5 can address this seemingly easy to resolve issue.

    Cool!,

So it sounds like I need to do a RAID 0 config to get the maximum speed while still having my storage.

My only question left (forgive my ignorance) is what does the RAID 0 config do for me. What is the advantage?

    Thanks!,

Thanks for all the great ideas!

Forgive my ignorance, if I use three 1TB drives for my media, can I raid them and still have 3TB of media storage?

What type of raid would this be and how would I set it up?

    Thanks so much!,

Stephen, I really like the Non-Stop Music! Thanks for the idea.
Any idea what price range I might be looking at?
I know Killer Tracks quoted me $3650/yr. for 3 years.
Do you think Non-Stop would be a better value and possibly less than the $3650 price tag?

    Thanks!,

    Thanks for the suggestions.
What about production music libraries like KillerTracks, MegaTrax, Video Helper?

Are there any other good companies out there I could look into?
I just want good music that would work for the medical field.

I am currently looking into the Stack Tracks as well. Thanks for the idea there, Stephen!

    Thanks everybody!

July 3, 2009 at 11:44 pm in reply to: Offline a Multicam Edit, is it possible?

    Mark,

    Thanks for the encouragment here.

I’d like to double-check my workflow with you.

I plan to export my ProRes clips out of FCP using Offline RT HD.
Then I’ll create a Multiclip from my Offline RT HD materials.
    I’ll edit the multiclip.
Then to reconnect, I’ll select the media in the timeline, choose reconnect media and point it back to the ProRes media.

Can I do the reconnect media part if I’ve made my offline edits from a multiclip?

    Thanks for your help!

    Gentlemen,

Thank you for your thoughts. I am going to go with a 6×11 Wacom Intuos.
How do you guys setup your work area up with the keyboard and tablet? Is it a hassle or have yall found ways of making it comfortable?

    Thanks again,

    Walter,

Thanks for the input. I meant to say, I was right-clicking on the clip in the timeline…not from my bin. Am I still possibly missing something?

    Thanks!,

P.S. I enjoy your video tutorials & podcasts very much!

Thanks for the input. The HDV cameras could shoot standard def like the other two DV cameras. I’ll go that route.

    Any further suggestions?

    Thanks,

February 4, 2007 at 8:15 pm in reply to: JVC HD 110U workflow question

    Jerry,

Thanks for the ideas. I am running Final Cut Studio 5.1.2
I’m using an internal 250gb Maxtor hard drive (2nd hard drive, not my boot drive) as my scratch disk.
    I’ve shot 720/24p HDV on a JVC GY-HD110u camera.
The drive is formatted as MAC OS Extended (Journaled) with 2 partitions.

Any suggestions as to what I could do to get past this issue?

    Thanks,

    Ben Brodbeck
