  • I’ve since deleted my user settings, and not receiving the error.
But project is still not performing as it should. Comp window is not updating promptly and cannot create preview of footage.
Getting unspecified error when trying to render preview.

  • Did you receive any feedback from Adobe or solve this yourself?
I’m having the same issue with no motion blur using Media Encoder CC 2015.
    Thanks,
    Bart

  • Nothing really consistent…
I usually move the gradient element up and down the hierarchy and that seems to do it, (sometimes!)

This just happened to me… any luck with an answer?

  • Thanks Brian,
I was unaware of the difference between parametric and bezier curves, very useful!

  • Thanks for the feedback Walter..
I do have layer controls visible (I can see the blue paths in my comp window)
I select the “Gradient Fill” effect as a part of the shape layer in the composition window.
I don’t see my visible handles ( but can control with sliders)
I’m just frustrated because sometimes I can see the handles and sometimes not, just want to figure out why its not consistent.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the feedback Walter.
Yes, you are correct. I meant to communicate “blending mode”, my mistake.
Setting my blending mode in the pre-comp did the trick.
    Thanks for sharing your expertise

I’ve had some similar experience with using really large “for print” files, and always try to keep my sub-comps to only the needed resolution.
For example if I had a 12000×7000 pixel .psd file, and I only needed to use a 600×600 area of that image, I would make sure my sub-comp is only at that needed resolution.
Import composition “retain layer sizes” is nice feature to break apart a large .psd files. and have each element with its own center.
    Hopefully that helps.

  • I work for a projection company, and this content will be used in two different stock footage reels. One for HFR Digital Cinema 60p 4K.
And the other @ HD 29.97.
Yes, a simple export at 29.97 works best for a straight conversion… over thinking that…
I actually have dealt with this challenge several times, and I was thinking there must be a better way to approach it.
If there is a way to develop a workflow where I can do my edit, and maintain my cuts at different project frame rates, it would save a lot of time.
From a content perspective, within a specific clip the cut is happening at a certain frame, regardless of project fps playback.
I was thinking there might be a way to convert a project and maintain those specific cuts at a different frame rates.
I’m just not sure if it’s possible.
    Thanks for the feedback

Thanks Mike for the feedback Mike..
Duplicating sub-comps won’t work for what I need to do, but it got me thinking about approaching the problem differently.
I use a combination of a shape layer – replicated and trapcode form.
    Thanks agian
