You could just as well use a still image for your custom particule. The result would be somewhat less dynamic of course.

[Dave LaRonde] ”
I hope that’s true. If it is not, simply google the term “lighting for green screen” or something similar to get the story from the camera’s end of the process.”That… or check the article I wrote a long time ago about shooting for chromakeying. Click on my mugshot in the forum and scroll down.

[Shayder] “I think you have to type in “0” for the velocity and that will keep them on the same level.”
Oh… haha, yes and that, too of course 🙂

Does it look stretched on your computer display, or on the TV Video output?
The TV has a different PAR than a computer display (which has square pixels).
If it looks right on the NTSC monitor, you should be fine.

Apply it, and drag the resulting comp in a new one, and time-reverse it…

I’m having a quick cup of tea, so I’m not behind my machine at this moment, but try this:
Use the box emitter, with a very low z-size. The box should almost be a ‘plane’, so all the particles will be spawned on the same height.
As for particle size: you can set the size in the Particle segment of particular.
Hope this helps,

If you read the background information in my review on Cycore FX HD, you’ll get the general picture.
https://www.creativecow.net/show.php?page=/articles/onneweer_barend/cycorefx_hd_review/index.htm
Both plugin sets are based on the same original code, but Cycore Effects is much more up-to-date.

Huh?
Voodoo isn’t Icarus. Icarus was developed at the University of Manchester and is indeed now PFtrack. Voodoo is developed at the Uni of Hannover. And free for non-commercial use.

In general, camera’s behave in a more predictable way if you parent them to a null and animate the null for position.

Plus… Electric FX seems dead. There’s nothing on the site, and I don’t think there’s any support on the plugins anymore.
Which is kind of sad, because a really good fire and smoke simulation would be very, very welcome, and with todays CPU’s Pyro might actually be worth a try… but I’m not buying tools from a dead company.
I have Particular, but I haven’t been able to get completely realistic ‘hero fire’ or billowing smoke from it.
