We don’t know yet. It is an indie doc, could do the festival circuit, could end up on PBS. My default is the 422 HQ, but I’m trying to minimize rendering while working as much as possible. I would say the footage is 60/40 LT/HQ.

No I should be able to just take a sequnce within FCP and drop it into the 4 by 3. What I ended up doing late last night was copying the attributes from an earlier letterboxed sequence and copying those onto the new oneA workaround, but successful and I didn’t need to take the time to export.

I used a transition effect. With keyframes I probably could change it globally.

Esactly. My client is new to the business of producing and directing.
Hopefully, she’ll have learned a lot from this experience and not make the same
mistake again.

I’ve thought about that, but the client is very traditional in her filmmaking style. Some invertivews are MS and the subtitles are fine and they are bearable with b-roll. I know she won’t want to affect some shots and not others and we can’t change the aspect ratio of the whole show. She is also
completely out of money and I hate to be crass about it, but I have no desire to jump through
hoops for free. Thanks for your response and I’m hoping for more so she understands that there
is no “magic bullet” out there.

The error was caused by a missing mpeg2 component in Quicktime.

I am having the same problem! What do you mean by a missing mpeg 2 componet? How do I
determine if I am missing something? Can you give me more info on how you fixed your problem?

Thanks for following up Chris. I should have known this would have been discussed already. But what
about the render time on PZP? I read there was a preview (low rez) feature. Can you use that in a timeline?
