Help! I have an anamorphic sequence that I need to output letterboxed for VHS approval. For two months
now I have outputting rough cuts by dropping my 16 x 9 sequence into a 4 x 3 timeline and its perfect.
But now all of a sudden it doesn’t work with my current sequence (which is a copy of the earlier ones). A
sequence from two weeks ago works fine, but not the current one. I have trashed prefs, but that did nothing.
    Any workarounds, bailouts? Thanks!

Did you try exporting a self comtained movie and droping it into a 4×3 seq? or is that what you did?

No I should be able to just take a sequnce within FCP and drop it into the 4 by 3. What I ended up doing late last night was copying the attributes from an earlier letterboxed sequence and copying those onto the new oneA workaround, but successful and I didn’t need to take the time to export.

    Weird.
I just had the same thing happen last week. I tried to take a 16×9 sequence and drop it on a 4×3 timeline for an analog tape. It usually works just fine, but this time I couldn’t get it to work no matter what I did. I ended up adding a distort factor to the anamorphic sequence and rendering it. I usually don’t have any problems doing this, but this time it simply refused to work.Strange…
    Any insights to this?

Is everybody using FCP 5.0.4? I, too, have had the same problem since going with the FCP 5.0.4 upgrade.

Actually in this case it’s on a machine running 4.5 and OS10.3.7.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
