Still a bug, but I found a “solution” by hiding the mocha AE CC filter. For whatever reason the masks would suddenly be responsive. It shouldn’t make a difference because the filter wasn’t even really doing anything.

No, this is 100% a bug.

It happens to me as well. I’ll clear the cache and then suddenly the mask will jump into the proper space.

I thought Adobe fixed this an update ago…

    NOPE

    I’m on:

    16.1.3

  • This is not correct, unless all your comps happened to be named comp-something.

    Unless I’m missing something here?

I can confirm that Jamie McGee is correct. What a frustrating mess AE can sometimes be. The amount of stumbling around in the dark to figure this one out…ugh.

This is MOSTLY the correct answer, however, you need to keyframe from 1 to 0.

He’s so smug. Oh really? Re-shoot? If we could “re-shoot” we wouldn’t be in this goddamned thread.

Not sure if CS6 handles the puppet tool any better than in CS5.5 but I also find it to be wonky town.

this might be worth a look if you are doing a lot of bone rigging on 2D. But more if for “puppet” type characters…

just throwing it out there. I used to play around with it a bit back when it was called “moho”.

  • Try This:

This would work if you were importing directly into AE without having trimmed in Premiere first. I’ll cover that in 2

    1) from Windows go to the root folder of where all the EX3 files are. control-F to do a search and type in *.mp4

That will then ONLY show the mp4 files. Drag and drop.

    2) if you need to trim in Premiere first then setup a sequence in premiere with all your clips, trim them, select them all from the sequence (audio too, if you want) right click, select ‘replace with After Effects composition’. Now all the clips will be in AE, each as their own layer.

Well, that may sometimes be the problem though as I was researching that problem here I came back to Premiere to try the suggested solution but before I could it started playing again.

Thus it could also just be a CPU issue or the fact that it’s made by Adobe and resides on Windows.

Also, I’ve rebooted in the past and it started working again.

The rain dancing and swearing failed however.
