it could be
basically i took my firestore and i connected it to the camera
pressed play record on the camera

and than play on the firestore
which recorded it to my p2 card…

when i play back the p2 card it plays fine
to get it into fcp…well that’s another story

it’s coming up in log and transfer
but it will also play thru in log and capture
problem with that is it shuts off with timebreak errors

that’s actually been one of our concerns….
we took alot of time to train ourselves on good lighting techniques and have invested in our share of lights

as we’ve been asked to do more and more “live” events that we do not have control of the lighting we have noticed that the hvx-200 is not producing that great under these conditions…

that being said…is there an hd-camera that would perform better.

we worked it out !!!

i forgot to tell you we are also working in cs3…
and there’s an extra setting there that we had to click

thanks everyone for all the advice !

i spend sooooo much time trying to be the best editor and learning the best techniques…that i sometimes forget to concentrate on safety and management of the entire process !

just one more dumb question than

so i should be doing a “save as” and keeping a day to day type of log as opposed to just saving over the same file ?

what i’ve been doing is making a duplicate copy of the project file for safety…but i suppose that’s not doing any good?

well i did autosave it so i was able to get back to where i was going too…

a few things..

1) i really can’t figure out what happened…i think that what really happened was the project and client have been really easy and smooth to work with…so i think the edit gods said let’s test his mettle….

2) when you say back up your project file to a flash drive
are you talking merely of the file you actually click to get into it ? not the entire project with all of it’s contents correct ?

it’s only a 15 secs loop so quality isn’t that big of an issue

we are using osx-10,4,11 2×2.66 ghx dual cores
with quicktime 7.3.1

any suggestions ?
