It is a small video clip that I got online. I don’t know if it’s loopable. That is one of my questions. Can I loop a small video clip in Motion.

I went forward and duplicated the small clip in the timeline of FCPro and then sent the Green Screen Video Clip to Motion, did my chromakeying and brought it back and this works great.

It hasn’t compressed successfully yet though.

    Thanks,
    Arturo

    M –

    Thank you for the info!

A quick followup question regarding your btw comment:

Are you talking about adding sequence markers (they show up green) to the sequence? When I do these, it does not store the marker or marker notes inside the browser library like it does when I create the markers inside the viewer. Can I add a marker to the clip in the sequence which would stay in the source material?

I am doing this video as an in house job for my own company. No pay.

My goal is to up the pro appearance of the teaching videos with the use of more cameras shooting from diff angles, etc

I have no experience with equipment mentioned.

The budget is not set. We may invest I’m creating this set up for future events if it is the right thing to do. For this event, most affordable solution is desired.

I learned that blackmagic is not a possibility.

Wow, Thank you for all the feedback. This is great.

I’m wondering about one more simple option. I already have a blackmagic intensity pro card in my MAC Pro, and I could buy one more and be able to input two differerent cameras using their On-Air program.

What do you think about this option?

I wonder if I can use these cameras to capture in SD instead of the large files associated with HD.

  • Thanks for your help Chip.

So it sounds like my best bet will be to capture in SD if I can because when I capture to HD, the file sizes are very big. Much bigger than 13 gb/hr.
Or if I do capture in HD, then I need some larger external drives to store all of the info.

So, as long as the video format I capture in can be imported into Final Cut Pro, I’m good and ready to edit.
I’ll do a test tomorrow to see how well it all comes together using two cameras going directly to an external hard drive into Final Cut Pro, and another camera capturing AVCHD footage and importing it into FCPro.

Do you think that will work?

    Thanks for the info.

I would like to go with the DVD recording option, How would I do this if I’ve already taken all of my videos off of the camera and now they are stored on my Graid in the AVCHD file structure.

Can you teach me how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Arturo

    Hey Tom and Jeremy,

I reinstalled Perian and then removed it from the system preferences pane and rebooted and now it’s working. I think my problem was that I removed Perian from the file structure instead of from the system pref pane and maybe there was something still sticking around causing trouble.

    Thanks for your help.

If reingesting means re-attempting to log and transfer the video clip. YES. I did try and I got the same result.

I don’t know what reingest means. I reconnected my camera and tried to Log and Transfer the clip back into FCPro.

    Is that what you mean?
