Workflow for adding a background to a long clip
Hello,
I’m a new user to Motion 3 and I have green screen footage that I would like to add a background to. I found a nice background movie clip that I would like to have play in the background for the entire clip. I can easily get it to play for the length of the background clip but do not know how to have the background clip repeat itself throughout the entire clip. I tried to add it as another video track in FCPro 6, but now I don’t now how to bring both tracks in separately to be able to use one as the background.
There must be a simple solution to adding or replicating small background video clips.
Can someone make a suggestion of a workable work flow for doing this?

Is the background clip loop-able?

You can just copy-paste the motion clip as many times as you need it to repeat, can’t you?.

It is a small video clip that I got online. I don’t know if it’s loopable. That is one of my questions. Can I loop a small video clip in Motion.
I went forward and duplicated the small clip in the timeline of FCPro and then sent the Green Screen Video Clip to Motion, did my chromakeying and brought it back and this works great.
It hasn’t compressed successfully yet though.

sure lit;s loopable. It’s abackground. Just add a little disolve.

The reason I asked if it is loop-able is because that can say you a lot of layers and duplication time. If you select the clip and then go to the properties tab you have a Timing section. Go to the End Condition pop-up menu and choose loop. Then extend your clip as long as you want it and it will loop. Depending on what you got you can do ping-pong which plays the clip and then plays it in reverse. It then plays it in normal again and you get the idea. Best of luck.
