  • I’ll bet Media 100 version 7.5 on Mac OS 9 will run better on that machine than the OS X version. Maybe try that instead. You don’t get all the graphic layers, but the UI will be more responsive.

  • http://www.powermax.com sells certified pre-owned Mac systems. I guess they’re a little more expensive than from 3rd party used, but I believe they offer a 90 day warranty, and m100 will still offer you an extened warranty on you P6000 and BOB (for a cost).

    good luck

  • You might have trouble finding a PC today that is compatible with the iFinish software and the p6000 hardware.

I guess m100 hasn’t tested new PC’s for that system in a couple years. Plus, ifinish software has not seen a major update in quite a while, and Media 100 on the Mac has many more software features.

I’d recomend getting a used G4 rather than sinking money into trying to make iFinish work properly…

    ~launch red w/in media 100,
~on the layer that says v1 expand that track until you see the ‘face’ listing,
~click on the media type (probably says v1, v2, still image, movie, etc) a menue will appear,
~choose bin browser a new dialog will pop up
~find the appropriate bin and the clip you want with in that bin, that will become the media for that layer.

  • I’ve talked to some one at media 100, that should have read that MEDIA from SW is now compatible with 8.2.3 (I guess there was some bug that did not allow Media 100 i codec media rendered out of SW to “fast import” into M100 i). So that might have been some sort of type-oh.

You simply cannot bring an HD or SW time line into 8.2.3. You’ve never been able to go backwards to an older version. Is there any NLE that can do this?

The motion path editor in Media 100 is a little anemic – if you’re going to AE anyway, why not animate the motion paths there?

Otherwise, Boris RED of FX will work worlds better than the motion path editor.

I wouldn’ try to animate anything in Motion path editor, I’d only use it for a Quick Scale and postion, and even that is terribly kludgy…

    that’s what https://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive6/ is for

Macdrive translates MAC formating so a PC will recognize the drive.

(Are you using a Firewire drive, or SCSI? I’ve only used this with FW, not quite sure how it works with scsi)

Are you running QT 7? If so, back up to 6.5
