Any short cut importing a clip to RED in Media 100?
Media 100 8.2.2, Boris RED, OS 10.3.9
When doing photomantages I bring many of the clips into Media 100 directly from a Sony PD100. I also do some scans.
When I use Boris RED to add motion to photos I am importing the scanned photos from the desktop or a file on the desktop, no problems. But if I have a clip in a Media 100 bin I can’t seem to be able to bring it into RED directly. I am putting the clilp on the timeline in Media 100 then Exporting a frame from the Edit Suite to the desk top. then I go into RED and import the media from the desktop.
Is there a way to bring in files from Media 100 bins without having to go out to the desktop and back in again?

You need to use the “media 100 bin browser” function from within RED, it can be slow to update, but it gets the job done.
Simply select this function from the track’s drop down menu (the one that’s T for text, or V1 etc) once imported it becomes a movie clip and is handled in the same way.

Sorry, for being a dolt, but I cant’ seem to find the “media 100 bin browser”. could you please explain a little bit more step by step? I really appreciate your patience and explanation

~launch red w/in media 100,
~on the layer that says v1 expand that track until you see the ‘face’ listing,
~click on the media type (probably says v1, v2, still image, movie, etc) a menue will appear,
~choose bin browser a new dialog will pop up
~find the appropriate bin and the clip you want with in that bin, that will become the media for that layer.HTH
