  • Opening Media 100 file/video/edit on PC

I have recently sold my MAC with Media 100, and bought a PC with Premiere Pro and Vegas. I have an external hard drive, which contains my edits made on Media 100. I now wish to open these files on my PC, but it is not doing so. My PC quicktime is also not opening any of my video files stored on my external hard drive.

My question is… is there a way to open a media 100 file or editcut on a PC?

Also is there a compatible media 100 codec for the PC format, to view my videos in? I’ve tried I-finish but it keeps crashing my quicktime.

down load the iFinish transcoder from the media 100 software dowloads page.

I also found a nifty little app, Mac Drive by Mediafour which allows a mac drive to mount to the pc, you can read and write to it, you can also Map mac file types to PC file types. So you can tell it that Media 100 i Media is Quicktime, and when ever you mount the drive, it adds the .mov automatically.

    well worth the $50 IMHO

Since I am a novice…how do you mount my media 100 files from my external MAC hard drive to PC, without deleting any file??

    that’s what https://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive6/ is for

Macdrive translates MAC formating so a PC will recognize the drive.

(Are you using a Firewire drive, or SCSI? I’ve only used this with FW, not quite sure how it works with scsi)
