In Windows & Linux, applications live inside of windows. In Mac OS, windows live inside of applications. It’s a different paradigm, and that’s what makes Mac OS such an elegant and powerful window manager.
No need to launch a browser to “explore” your hard drive, just double click it’s icon. The desktop is your browser.
Need to find something 6 folders down? just drill down by double clicking. when you’re done, there’s only the 1 window open in the place you want it to be, not 6.
Once you get used to it, you’ll never understand how you managed to get anything done in Windows.

Right click on the bin and choose “New Sequence”. It will make the sequence inside of that bin.

I just use FCP’s text generator for slates. No rendering or very fast rendering on a G5 or Mac Pro with a decent disk array.

They did this for a party scene in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. they used a warper to make the image swim.

My only suggestion is that you shoot with a different camera. 15fps? Really? And you need 25fps? Doesn’t make sense to me, when there are so many good quality cameras that shoot 25fps natively.

There is probably nothing wrong with the footage. Are you viewing this on an interlaced HD external monitor? If not, that could be your problem. You’re not viewing it properly.

You will need to roto this out. You can try Motion. If you’re not happy with the result, try Shake, it’s got pretty good roto tools. If that’s not good enough, try Silhouette Roto. It’s a dedicated roto/paint tool, and it will definitely speed up the process.

If you have Photoshop Extended (sold separately or bundled with AE, Flash and Premiere) you can open up a QT movie and use the clone brush to paint these out. PS extended will allow you to paint from one frame into a different frame. The PS manual explains this, it’s slightly complicated.

And tape based….”I know. They need to look at their calendar & see that it’s the 21st century!
OTOH, the 200fps is pretty cool. I can see this camera gaining some traction just for that.
