That’s funny, because my DVD of “Patton” is formatted to 2.35. I guess Fox printed it for release in ‘regular’ scope. Was “Dolly” shot in 70mm? I’m not sure.

I’m not sure, but I think super 70mm was 2.05. I think “Patton” may have been 2.35.

Check out detonationfilms.com. they specialize in pyro effects (including muzzle flashes) and their stock footage is fairly cheap.

That’s the thing. FCP is software, and there’s no 3rd party RT hardware since Pinnacle dropped Cinewave.

Shazam!! I absolutely need one of those! And maybe even an iPod to put inside of it. I used to watch Speed Racer as a kid back in the ’60s (note to self, 44 is only middle aged if you’re not planning on living past 88).

It’s a little counter-intuitive. OK, it’s a lot counter intuitive!
In the timeline, right click (option click if you have a 1 button mouse) on the object & select “Reveal Source Media”. this will open a new window out from under your canvas that shows all of the media files that are in the timeline. Select the one you want to change the speed of, then change the speed in the inspector.

Amen! Most people using FCP don’t realize that ‘media management’ starts with how you log & capture your footage. If you looked in the Capture Scratch folders of the people who have the biggest problems with MM, I think you’d find a lot of folders named “Untitled Project”, containing a lot of files named “Untitled”, all of which are on reel # 001.

If you shot against a green screen, you could simply key the background out & lay a color solid under it that has it’s color animated.
