There’s a list on the FCP Wikipedia page:

Hey Jason,
When making subclips I always try to give myself a few seconds of handle for transitions and whatnot.
But if you want to be able to “trim beyond the chops” go to the Modify Menu and select
Remove Subclip Limits. Just be aware that the subclip icon in the browser will change to a regular clip
icon, so it gets easier to lose track of what’s a subclip and what isn’t.
Hope this helps. Enjoy your 4th of July weekend.

Try this:
Go to your View Menu and make sure Audio Scrubbing is checked.

The only thing I know of is this: go to the Mark menu, Audio Peaks, and select Mark. FCP will analyze the sequence and put a sequence marker anywhere the audio is clipping.
It doesn’t actually fix anything, just shows you where the problems are.
I haven’t used it much, so I can’t speak to its accuracy. Maybe someone who has used it a bunch can chime in…Happy Mother’s Day everyone!!!

Hey Joe,
The Thumbnail Cache is located in the Finder in a folder labeled Final Cut Pro Documents.
Question:
Are the thumbnails on the clips in your timeline there or are they also showing Offline as well as in your browser? When things in FCP go weird I also might trash the preferences.

These types of things are done by changing the Motion Properties.
https://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/#chapter=66%26section=0
–“It is impossible to know what your image is going to look like when you adjust the colors, wright?”
When you adjust a clip’s color you see the adjustments in the canvas (as long as your playhead is over that clip).
The manual is a great resource, as is the Final Cut Pro 7 training book which is part of the Apple Pro Training Series from Peachpit Press.

Hmmm, my concerns stem from the pro apps not being Apple’s biggest money maker, but I started thinking one thing and now I see everyone’s point. Story of my life.
Of course I don’t think Apple is going to ditch the pro apps. Although FCS probably means little to their profits, Apple will continue to sell it (and I will continue to buy it) because it gives them (and me) a foothold in the world of professional media. FCS is kind of a prestige item. I guess it’s up to us to make it prestigious.Ari Feldman

I concur with Bob. It would be great if Apple sells FCP to Adobe (or anyone else who cares more about pro apps than Apple).
A company not so concerned with selling gizmos and doohickies would take the time and energy to really make FCP fly to new heights. Who knows? That might even take away the “Final Cut Amateur” stigma that some people still harbor.
It could possibly reach new customers (Final Cut Pro on Windows??? I’m blowing my own mind.)
Alright, that’s my speculation/daydreaming for today.
