Hey thanks for that info it was what I was afraid would be the case. As an option could he make a AAF file in CS4? Then I could use it in Vegas. Vegas has an AAF import option. Then I could finish basic editing and lock picture then send it back to him to do all effects, sound and sweetening in PPR and After effects. Do you think that will work? I’m going to try that this weekend and I let you know if it works. Thanks

Thanks Steve, that worked great and “so bye bye boopee”! LOL… Hey one more thing what does the “value slider” represent in the titler it’s right below the saturation slider when choosing font colors and charateristics? Is it the same thing as opacity or something else…

Hey thanks Mike that worked perfectly. This was my first time using an image sequence out of AE. I started laughing when I saw all the stills. So that is normal and vegas imports them easily. Thanks again.

November 7, 2008 at 7:40 pm in reply to: Photo Huge in comp window

Yes. That’s right. I can scale the photo numerous ways. Thank you.
I guess what threw me off was when I view the photo as footage I’m seeing the whole photo size 3000×2000, but when the photo is viewed in the comp window which is 720×480 I’m just seeing a 720×480 portion of my 3000×2000 photo which is represted by the pink bounding box. so I need to scale the photo to see as much as I want to in the 720×480 comp window. I think that what’s going on right?
I knew it was somethng basic like that. Is there a way to automate the scaling of photo’s so I don’t have to resize each one every time? Thanks for the input. I was at the dv expo in LA yesterday and the stuff they can do with CS4 was pretty cool.

    Hi thanks for the response

Q: When you say you move it around with the hand tool, do you mean the move tool? The move tool – arrow – will select and move your layer, but the hand tool will just move the ‘view’ you have of the layer.
    The Hand tool

What are the settings of the comp?
    Ntsc DV 720×480 preset.

Are they the size of your large jpeg?
    3000×2000

Or perhaps you are just zoomed in too much.
No. I have tried all the zoom settings – the grey square through which i can visibly see the photo just gets larger or smaller but the veiw of the photo stays the same unless i move it around with the HAND TOOL.
Now this Might help When I zoom to around 6% and I can see the Pink outline of the size of the photo as a bounding box.

    OK Wait a minute….

now I can scale the picture this way, by dragging the corners of the pink bounding box I can scale it and now I can see the whole photo. Yahoo… but it also messes with the aspect ratio of the photo.
And I can’t quite get the photo to match the comp window exactly I can see the transpernt layer below it some times?

Isn’t there a way to have the photo open where it will match the output ratio of the comp window when it’s dragged to the comp window?. Or do i have to scale each and every photo to match aspect ratio of comp window? thanks for your help

    all the best
