Broadcast folks all want and will argue about shooting in 24p, they almost always want 29.97.
Stick to that for Broadcast. I have heard this argument to many times.*Production*Post-Production*

If your on FCP 7, try just using the Share window> choose youtube and upload direct from there.
Edit in your highest resolution, then export.
*Youtube is not the greatest for online viewing, Vimeo is a cleaner compression.*Production*Post-Production*

YOu can ingest with a USB Card Reader, or USB HardDrive. NOT Capture, that is FW only.

IF you read up on it, you will see for someone editing on a laptop, you need a maxed out 17 inch MBP
or Ultra Fast PC laptop.*Production*Post-Production*

I use both the Zoom H4N or Rode Video Mic, you can also, hook up a Sennhieser Wireless mics direct to the camera.
The only issue is making sure to do a test clip and playback to make sure you mic is recording.

January 4, 2011 at 1:25 am in reply to: Auto aspect ratio / custom scaling for monitorsFrom what have seen, The DP6 has been the best build, resolution, and Canon Battery mounts.
The menus are all not as easy to navigate, but i am sure thats minor. you can get used to it.
It also can be updated by software.Seems like a winner to me.

a few simple things,
Stack your clips then,
Just size one of the clips the way you like it, then CMD+C or right click>copy
Then Right click>Paste Attributes to the other clips in the stack.
check basic motion or crop*you can apply this to as many clips as you want.

The 7D was the only major issue I saw that only after keeping the LCD on between takes for long periods.
The LCD and the twin Processors is what makes it act overheat faster than a 5D MK II, (what Canon told me over the phone)
Since, the firmware update that addressed the overheating issues, and turning off the LCD if not shooting. If you are not using the camera for more than 3mins shut it off. I rather burn battery by switching the camera on/off then having an overheat issue.

Try to stay as low as possible, but I wouldn’t surpass 1600 ISO.
Yes, you can see in the dark but its just not worth it.
If it looks ok in the LCD wait till you import it.*Production*Post-Production*

The 422 is the color space great to pull a key. Unlike some others like HDV 4:2:0*Production*Post-Production*
