    No, this footage was originally 30i. Unfortunatley, alot of supplemental material is being pulled by the editor thats 30i to put into a shot being cut in a 23.97 timeline. Im the unfortunate soul to have to convert it all, and my only option is AFX..

    Hey Pearl,

    In order to get timecode onto a vhs or any other source, you will have to pass the video signal through a timecode generating device (i.e Betacam deck. By simply doing a digital cut to a beta tape and then passing that signal through to your vhs tape, you will have a burn, provided you patch it appropriatley (composite super out and character switch set to on) The avid itself is not capable of outputing timecode. The only way around this is to simply apply the timecode effect found in the avid effects palate. May take a bit to render depending on computer speed, but works perfect.
