    Hi,
Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond to the FEC question. I’ve been travelling from IBC. Anyhow, existing users can upgrade from FEC version 3.52 or later for $99. We haven’t yet posted an upgrade version to our website, but you could download the full Trial version until we post it shortly. (Our website is down for a little while as our building was apparently struck by lightening. We should be up shortly.)
    Thanks,
    Anne

    Hi,
Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I was atttending IBC where my email access was sketchy. While this is an interesting thread, nothing is official. If we have any news to report, I promise we’ll post a press release here with all relevant information.

Meanwhile, we have announced the availability of Boris Final Effects Complete (FEC) version 4.02. FEC includes more than 100 native plug-ins for Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, Discreet Combustion as well as Boris Red, FX and Graffiti. A future version will add support for Adobe Premiere Pro. A second version, Final Effects Complete AVX (FEC AVX), will add support for the AVX 1.0 architecture. Existing users can upgrade from FEC version 3.52 or later for $99. We haven’t yet posted an upgrade version to our website, but you could download the full Trial version until we post it shortly. You can download a 14-day trial version from https://www.borisfx.com/esd/main.php
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I generally monitor the Boris COW forum; this is the first time I’ve posted to the Media 100 forum. While this is an interesting thread, nothing is official. If we have any news to report, I promise we’ll post a press release here (and on the Boris forum) with all relevant information.

It’s not even in beta yet. We simply gave a technology demo of the new paint and subtitling features.

Red 4.0 isn’t shipping; we simply debuted it at IBC. It’s expected to ship in Q1 2006. Once it’s shipping we’ll post a demo.
    Sorry!

    The actual link is https://www.borisfx.com/esd/main.php

In my original message, the period at the end of the sentence was messing up the link.
    Sorry about that.

Are you using the 2D Particles Advanced filter with a custom shape to create the “insects?” If so, the 2D Particles Advanced filter auto-animates by default. Try setting the Automate Scatter menu to Manual. Then set a Scatter amount using Constant interpolation.
