Tank you for that qick answer Tod

but I have no setting for that on the TV monitor

and actually, the clip look streched too in the FCP Canvas

It become ok when I make it fit for the 4:3 sequence
    with the motion tab .

Have you an other idea to keep all the 16:9 clip from the cassette
and put it in a 4:3 sequence ??

    Tank’s a lot Walter…

Actually, yes HD capture work with my usual NTSC setting,
but I still need to adjust the image in the viewer, cause the image is stretched.
    It’ s weird !

In fact..there is an anamorphic little box where you can clic on, just beside the frame size you wants (In the capture presets setting), and it give me a 16:9 screen mode but then if I bring them in an other size of format it streched. And I adjust it but it’s a gess about the real size of the 16:9 image…

And… it does not matter about the monitor, the HD shooting is so great that I don’t really need to make color correction. But it’s important for me to know now !!

October 28, 2005 at 2:35 pm in reply to: having problems with uncompressed 10-bit qt

    Hi ,

    I’m not sure but…
I think it could be because they missed some codecs..
They are for QT, but when you install QT, they doesn’t come with…

Last week, I have losted some of those QT codecs comming from a
blackmagic download…and QT was not able to read them anymore (but still read my DV-NTSC cxapture)

So they could try to download some on http://www.blackmagicdesign.com
    or http://www.digitalvoodoo.net

it’s free and as well as it’s a apple codec…you’ll be alright, a technicien from blackmagic told me.

    so,
I did it and I got some uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2 (and 8-bit) codecs
and now QT can read my uncompressed capture.

Just be caraful to download the one for your system…
and if the wright one is not in the list, then ask for your type in the search list…they have a lots of free download…

    good luck

  • “Merde”…

    I tryed for both

trashing my preferences and open brand new files
but final cut does not recognized them…

but…it doesn’t matter, I can still work with Live Type movie files
it’s just not so practical as it was !!

It’s working, but I think next time I’ll have to re-install final cut or
update it…it will be all wright.

    Tank you verry much Matt
    and
    welcome to other ideas
