The settings are good.
You dont want to select the native codec for preview. That will make it unworkeble.

converting files does not improve the quality (you cannot make something out of nothing).
PP works natively with dslr footage so no need to convert.

You should be able get the parameters in the Effect Controls.
It seems Filmompact has updates. Have you check them out.
