I’m confused about sequence settings to work with footage from a Sony PXW-X70, shot using the XAVC HD at 50mbps.

If I create a sequence from the clip, I get the following:

Can this be right? Is there no way to select the native codec for the footage?

Working in Premiere Pro CC 2014 with latest update.

    The settings are good.
You dont want to select the native codec for preview. That will make it unworkeble.

What you need to be concerned about is that the frame size, frame rate, pixel aspect ratio, and field order (upper, lower, or progressive) of the sequence match the source footage, which it certainly ought to. So as Ann stated, all good. Don’t worry that it says “ARRI” at the top. You will find other presets such as AVCHD with the exact same settings as well, doesn’t matter as long as specs match footage.

    Thanks
