    Prores export is only available on a Mac not Windows.

    iFrame MPEG is not pristine< its a lesser codec, only to be used when wanting a quick review.

    To answer the original question: render wont improve the video quality. It can improve render times when preview codec and export codec are the same.

    This looks like you are missing the codec.
    Install the XF Utility from Canon which includes the codec.

    You dont need the quicktime files.
    Put your card in a card reader, open en copy the entire card to hdd.
    The use the Media Browser, navigat to the BDMV file on your computer and click on STREAM to import the mts files.

    Descent but old and too slow for 4K native.
