Pinnacle Studio does not split your avi into scene, its all optical.
In Studio you are still editing one long file.

Go to the Preferences/general and set the duration of the still to 1 frame

Default still length can be set in the preferences/General.
Make a preset of the opacity keyframes.

Window/workspace/reset current workspace.
Or move the devider between video and audio up/down

Ctrl+D is for the video Ctrl+Shift+D is for the audio but you need to select the tracks first before adding the default transition otherwise it wont work.
I set Apply default transition to selection to D.
If you want just the video hold Alt and select, same goes for the audio.

No Premiere will only see one card.

I assume your SSD disk is for the OS
Videofiles should be on a seperate disk and never together with the OS.
