If you want a yellow line to play without lagging turn down playback to 1/2 or select in and out and hit Render In To Out.
Render selection only works on a red line.

Under the wrench turn on Show FX Badges.
That will give a little fx icon on the clip in the timeline.
white: no effect
green,yellow and purple: (not in that order)fixed effect, effects and effects+fixed effects.———————————————–

Dont deinterlace your footage
Use a Bluray preset from Premiere.
Burn half speed and make sure its a good brand like Verbatim.
You can also make an iso and burn it with imgburn.———————————————–
