Like I said before Highlight the word Motion. Forget about the dropdown menu.
A yellow bounding box will appear in the PM.

The colors in the fx box tells you if you have changed the fixed effect or added effects from the Effects panel or no effects at all.
Instead of keyframing in the Effect Controls Window you can keyframe directly in the clip on the timeline.
If you click on a propertie a corresponding line will appear on the clip for you to add keyframes or pull it up or down (depending on the propertie)———————————————–

Mixing framesizes is usually not a problem.
Mixing framerate is. I have never got good results with dropping 24, 30 or 60 fps in a 25p timeline.
