August 10, 2012 at 3:18 am in reply to: Resolved Crashed During Job Render!

    Hi Jason,

For V9, were you using a disk database (file based) or a PostgreSQL database? When you say the project disappeared, do you mean it went away from your project manager on the database? Or did your entire database disappear?

Could you please run CaptureLogs.app (/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve). This should save a compressed package of logs on your desktop. Could you please send us this file at davincihelp (at) blackmagicdesign.com.

Also, did you manually turn on Autosave/backup on your project or is it part of your default settings? And did you manually initiate a save at least once?

    Thanks,
    Anish

  • Hi Dimitrios,

So here is how Cineform renders should work:
    – With nothing installed, you will not be able to render to Cineform
    – With Cineform Studio (free version) you should be able to render YUV 422 at HD or lower.
    – With Cineform Premium and Professional, you should be able to render YUV and RGB at HD and greater than HD.

Let us know if this is not what you are seeing.

    Thanks,
    Anish

  • Hi John,

When you say that QTDecoder stops responding, is this happening as soon as you add a 5D or 7D H264 file to the media pool? We tried that on our setup here but did not run into a crash/give the error.

Could you share your machine specs? Also could you send us Resolve logs as soon as you get the QTDecoder error? You can capture logs by going to C:Program FilesBlackmagic DesignDaVinci Resolve and run CaptureLogs.bat. This will save a zip file on your desktop.

Please send us this zipped file at davincihelp (at) blackmagicdesign (dot) com.

    Thanks,
    Anish

    Brice,

This seems to be a specific issue since we are able to successfully export to XML and FCPXML.

Could you send us an export of your project as well as Capture Logs immediately after the crash to davincihelp (at) blackmagicdesign.com?

For the export of the project, open Resolve and load the project. Go back to the project manager (by clicking on the home button). Right click on the project and export it. You can check all 4 options on the pop up window.

Then try to export to XML. As soon as Resolve crashes run the CaptureLogs.app (located at /Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/CaptureLogs.app). This will save a packaged log file on your desktop. Please send us the log file as well as the project export.

    Thanks,
    Anish

  • Do any of you (having issues with the license) have a second dongle from another machine that you are able to try on the machine with the issue?

This will help us identify if the issue is related to the dongle or on the machine. If the issue is indeed with the dongle, please write to us at davincihelp (at) blackmagicdesign.com.

    Thanks,
    Anish

June 18, 2012 at 4:36 am in reply to: flickering black frame on playback and render

    Hi Anthony,

Open Resolve, playback the clip which flickers and capture logs (/Library/Application Support/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/CaptureLogs.app). This will save a zipped log file on your desktop. Could you send a copy of that file to davincihelp (at) blackmagic-design.com.

Could you also confirm if this is only happening on the canon clips?

    Thanks,
    Anish

  • Sometimes when you update your system, the kext files that you might have changed/removed get replaced. Check if that is the case.

    Thanks,

May 29, 2012 at 8:00 am in reply to: Toggle Wipe to Black?

    Juan/William,

Could you check if stereoscopic left or right eye are enabled in these sessions where the issue persists (assuming its a non-stereo project)? If that is the case, toggling these off should correct the issue.

    Thanks,
    Anish

    Roman/Jon,

Could you check if your stereoscopic right or left eye are enabled on the projects where you see this issue. If it is and you disable it, does it fix the problem?

    Thanks,
    Anish
