Great links to help you out there but I’d like to add that if you are using two keyframes to hold a position value between two points in time you should always make the first keyframe a Held keyframe. Just right-click on the first keyframe and choose Toggle Hold Keyframe.
As well as removing unwanted motion this will also ensure there are no issues with interlacing. It also means you can continue to use Bezier keyframes if that’s what you need. There are times when you may want to ease in or ease out the motion from the held position. A keyframe can be Bezier on one side and held on the other.

Hi there,
The best solution for editing Text Presests is to start by selecting the layer and hitting the “U” key to expose keyframes. Then you can just adjust the keyframes to adjust the timing.
For even more control, select the layer and then hit the U key twice (in quick succession) to expose any property that has been adjusted from it’s default setting. this gives you an idea of which properties were adjusted to achieve the effect. Try Brainstorm tool on the selected properties to randomise them and see what they currently add to the mix.

You can use the Edge Color Correction settings within the existing keylight effect to remove some of this but to be honest, if you’re happy with the key apart from this then I think it’s better to apply another copy of the Keylight effect. Only use the Foreground Color Correction > Color Suppression and Edge Color Correction settings there to pinpoint this without affecting the existing key.

If you don’t want a text layer in your composition to react to the camera movement just make it a 2D layer. You can mix 2D and 3D in the same comp (a blessing and curse all in one feature!) If it is a 3D layer in the same comp as a camera, then it will react to the camera. Switch off the 3D button and use position and scale to place your layer in the comp.

To move a layer by a specified number of pixels you can get After Effects to calculate the Math for you. Simply click on the property value to make it editable, place the insertion point after the current value and type +220. After Effects will add this to the current value. You can use any of the math symbols to make calculations like this; +(Plus) – (Minus) / (divide) and * (multiply)

Hi there,
To move the Anchor Point wherever you need it, use the Pan Behind tool. With this selected you can just pick up the Anchor Point and drag it anywhere within the Comp panel.
For the reveal, have you tried the Radial Wipe effect? this may give you what you need.

Perhaps you could just mask out the year element of the plugin?
If that doesn’t work you could look at Digital Anarchy’s Text Anarchy plugin for After Effects which is more flexible than the built-in Numbers plug-in that you’re currently using;

Hi there,
You don’t actually need a script to do this. Each 3D layer has several controls in the Material Options section for determining if and how they accept shadows. Either open the 3D layers and switch off the Cast Shadows option for each of the layers you don’t want to cast shadows. Or, you can stop a layer from accepting shadows by turning off the Accept Shadows option.

Sadly GridIron no longer support either Nucleo or Nucleo Pro so I wouldn’t advise using it with the current version of AE. They stopped offering support for these products in April 2011. Here’s a link to their website;
