What format are you trying to render it for? Internet? DVD?
Your render settings depend a lot on your project settings. If you have 4×3 footage shot in 720×480 at 30 fps, then render at those settings with a pixel aspect ratio of .9091.
What kind of camera did you shoot on? Is the footage interlaced?
Also, use the search function. Lots of people on here, including myself, have had questions about render settings, and it’s something that everyone goes through. I’d bet that somewhere your question has been answered.

Yup, same aspect ratio and Cineform resolution.
Anyways, I figured out an easy work around. I just finish cutting the multicam footage, then turn off multicam editing so that each camera is sort of locked in, and from there I can add in plugins.

I know what you mean about paying for Neoscene, but for me it’s been worth it. I have a Vixia HF S21, which shoots to AVCHD and I have Vegas 9. My computer ran the footage pretty well, but even so, with any plugins or higher quality previewing, it was choppy.
There’s a discount code you can find by searching Creative Cow to get Neoscene for about $100, and it’s really easy to use. It’s basically drag and drop for converting your files.

Oh. Thanks. Is Twixtor available for Vegas 9? I’ve read that it’s only available for Vegas 10.
By the way, the pixelation problem sorted itself out, basically. What I realized is that even though the changes I made to pixelation look bigger in the preview monitor, it doesn’t look as dramatic a change in the finished video, so I had to bring the pixelation way up to make a noticeable difference.

I’m getting one more weird problem. I’m using the cookie cutter and pixelate plugins along with keyframes to pixelate someone’s face. I went through three clips to do it, and in each one it worked fine except when I went back to the video and increased the amount of pixelation to make the face more indistinguishable. The rendered video never shows the new change. I adjusted the cookie cutter keyframes to stay over the person’s face better and it renders all those.
I tried rendering in mp4, wmv, and rendering to a new track, but it’s all the same, though in my preview monitor it plays fine. I tried closing and restarting Vegas and still have the same problem. I also tried moving the clips to a different track on the timeline in case it was a setting on the timeline, but it still doesn’t render the changes.

I’ve been playing videos with VLC Media player. I tried it with WMV and it plays fine, so I guess the video and audio are fine, it’s just VLC.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I believe I have 9e. I just tried installing 9e to make sure, and it said that I already have Vegas Pro. So I guess that means that I have it.

Ok, so it seems that it does convert the audio, though it has lower volume now. I guess I have to change the AC3 Filter settings.

I’m getting no sound on the Cineform AVI conversions I’ve done. There don’t seem to be any options in the Preferences for the file conversion that affect sound. Any ideas?
Edit: Nevermind, found out what an AC3 filter is. Sometimes I wish video editing was more straight forward.
