What would work for a monitor with that for under $150? This is mostly for framing. I realize if I wanted to be able to monitor more detail I’d have to spend more for an HD monitor, but I’m fine with using component cables and looking at an SD picture for this.

Well, here’s the original that I tried to extract the written text from. I still don’t know how to link stuff, so you may have to copy and paste this into your browser.

And here’s the finished video I did. I ended up using Secondary Color Corrector, drew a mask around each individual letter, selected red, and used pan and crop to go from left to right. But it’s still not quite what I was trying to do.

I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. It’s got to show the text looking like it’s being hand drawn on screen.

Exactly, I want them removed so that everything else in the shot is gone. White or transparent both work fine.
I ended up just faking it by using the Secondary Color Corrector and panning across the letters, but I still want to know how to do this.

Well, either way, I think I won’t go for the payment plan and the rest. I could afford it, but that’s also lenses and other items I could get that are more important to me. I could always use my phone as a wifi hotspot.
I’ll go for the $100 tablet at some point. If I like it and feel it’s inadequate, I can decide more from there.

What’s the codec and format of your footage? I had problems like that switching from 10 to 11 with Cineform footage.

I don’t own it? How does that work? I thought I was buying it, not leasing it. I keep my phones from Sprint after I upgrade, I figure it would be the same for a tablet.
What do I need the data plan for, anyways? I wouldn’t pay for that. I need a computer to carry around.
You’re probably right about doing the payment plan. I think I’ll wait until I can make a firm decision.

This is kind of what I suspect would be the case. I’ll check again about it. Sprint is offering the Samsung tablet (people are telling me the Nexus 7 is better, but I think they like it more for leisure) for $20/m with a data plan of something like $11/m. Not too bad.
