I like Dropbox. The pro accounts start at 100gigs and I feel that the transfer is more robust because of the software in comparison to something basic like an FTP program.
Granted, the security isn’t as air tight as some dedicated services or VPN’s that studios use, but for your average indie film I’d say it’s fine if you throw it into a password protected zip file.
You could also, if you’re tech savvy, use something like Filezilla Server to allow FTP access to a folder on your computer and have the person in the US log in and grab it from there.

Why not just use noise reduction? You can take a print on the beep then adjust the reduction profile to spike around that frequency, leaving the other frequencies barely reduced (the usual response is flat based on the noise print). There is no “auto healing”, just the noise reduction plugin.

Since this is two weeks old… I’ll assume you’ve shot the video.
There are some DJ apps that have cue points like DJ Player (~$50)

I will add a 4 second count down at the beginning so I’ll have tracks like: full song, intro, verse 1, chorus 1, and so on. The lead-in beeps also assist with sound sync in post.

RED footage is interpreted as Rec 709 in After Effects by default. All transformations to/from other color spaces will be done with that in mind unless changed manually.
Rec 709 should be fine for TV and Web delivery, but I would check your delivery specs if it’s going to be shown in cinema.

My usual suggestion is start a new project and import the crashing/corrupted project into it. I’m amazed at how often this fixes issues.

You also have to weigh out how this looks in a budget.
Full software acquisition can be a harder sell to your superiors because it’s a large up-front cost.
Subscriptions are smaller costs that can slide by each year in the budget.
I did some number crunching (and this may be different with academic pricing) but creative cloud’s costs are usually more appealing if you’re a long term Adobe user.

1. Sure, you can import it. I had no problem loading 20gig files from an Arri Alexa on my 2007 Macbook Pro. It never tries to load a clip in memory all at once, it just reads what it needs to as you play back, just like any other video player.
Depending on the codec (if it’s heavily compressed… which is silly if you’re trying to restore it in the first place) you may have some limitations with how smoothly it scrubs.
2. That is entirely up to you and your client. If they’re converting for DVD, they should have some grasp on their requested delivery format. If you have the budget for a hard drive, I would do a TIFF sequence with a separate audio track, and send it via mail: UPS, FedEx, etc.
Image sequences take up a lot of space but are easier to manage than a single video file.
