PC to MAC gamma shift in Quicktime
I get quicktime’s from the editor (mac), do my work in AE (PC), then give it right back to the editor via quicktime.. I have used various codecs, but we always get a washed-out milky look when it imports back into the editor’s machine.. We have dealt with this since the beginning of time.. Will it ever get fixed? I like image sequences, but the editors do not, so I’m stuck with QTs at this facility..

https://vitrolite.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/quicktime_gamma_bug/ explains the issue and possible solutions. Probably the most straightforward resource on the issue I’ve come across. At the least, you may be able to fashion a LUT to handle the compensation back to the “original” look.
