April 16, 2022 at 1:04 pm in reply to: Premiere automatically correcting footage shot in SLOG3?My problem is the opposite Todd: Premiere is not recognising the S-log Color space of my A7S111 clips. I’d like to edit these in the rec709 color space without LUTs but can’t make this work. Do you know why Premiere can’t see the s-log color space and how to fix it?
Thanks

December 3, 2015 at 10:16 am in reply to: Premiere Pro CS6 only importing audio from C300 MXF filesThanks Jon
Initially, the clips that import as audio only show up as audio only in Media Browser too. I noticed that one of the projects that imported OK had the CLIPS001 folder in the top level of the directory (i.e. no CONTENTS folder) and voila! when I moved it up one level they imported correctly both in media browser and with CMD I. So it seems Premiere is fussy about the directory structures – still not consistent though as another set of clips were inside Contents and CLIPS001 folders and these import OK – still at least with some fiddling I can get them in now with video and audio – so thanks.
I also found a work around by bringing the MXF files into XDCAM Transfer and then exporting them out again – these imported fine – thanks Sony!

Interesting – seems Walter is happy with his iMacs for most of the work. I guess computers in general are starting to catch up with demands of heavy users like video pros, in a few years you’ll be able to edit multiple streams of 4K on a Macbook Air!

I meant the current MacPro is obsolete (although fast with 12 cores) four year old architecture and 2 year old CPUs for a big premium over an iMac.
I’m thinking the 2012 iMac will feel plenty fast enough for me for a few years so I think I’ll get the iMac keep it for maybe 3 years and then go Mac Pro again – then using the iMac as a general purpose office machine.

January 7, 2013 at 5:00 pm in reply to: Opinion please: Maxed out iMac i7 speed boost compared to my current 2007 8 core Mac Pro 3ghzNew MacPro would be faster than the iMac but I don’t really want to wait for the 2013 model and I’m not buying something that’s already obsolete for a lot more than the iMac – I guess I’m leaning towards the iMac but can’t find any definitive info about how much faster it will be for Adobe pro apps than my MacPro – nearest I can find is the new iMacs are about the same as a 6 core 2010 MacPro. Which would make it a bit faster than my machine but how much – twice, three times, even more?
I know the iMac with an Nvidia will be great for the CUDA stuff in Premiere but I’m just as interested in rendering in Media Encoder and AFX.

Looks like FSI is my best option – wish they had a dealer in the UK though…

Thanks, the LM-2140W was on my short list and looks like the best bang for buck.

I’m jumping in here as I may have a solution for you. Boris Continuum Complete 8 has a flicker filter that should be able to remove it. Take a look at this link:

I think my original problem was caused by having the Highlight Auto Optimiser turned on in the menu as I’ve never had the issue again.
