    Yeah, unfortunately the DV is the master for the PAL stuff. You’re probably right about hardware up-res, but resources are limited to capturing off of a PAL DV camcorder via firewire.

  • As I suspected. Thanks for the clarity, Shane.

    Hey David;

    Espresso sounds good. I’ll give you a ring later in the week.

    Cheers!

    Hey Noah and Winston;

    Thanks for the feedback. If I continue to have issues I’ll try these options. Though, I found that if I navigate to the photos through the browser and select them Motion has a much easier time digesting the information as opposed to when I navigate to them through the File pulldown and select Import as I was doing. Timelapse works. Now I must learn Motion.

    Thanks!

    Hey Alexander;

    I’ve tried several tests using compressor, and found that going with an Uncompressed 8-Bit conversion looks crisp and clean, but have had no luck getting the geometry to accept the 16:9 look of the source footage. Any suggestions?

    Thanks;

    Hey Alexander;

    Thanks for the feedback. I’ll give it a shot as well as look into what Walter suggests.

    Thanks Walter!

    That’s exactly what I needed to know.

    Thanks Matt;

    I was under the impression that FCP generated its own letterbox when working with Beta SP 16:9, similar to the way some Mini DV cameras generate letterbox when shooting.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    Yeah, I’ve tried selecting multiple clips and it doesn’t seem to help. Thanks for the thought, though.

    In the most recent test the clip was spanned. But in a previous test it was not.
