Hi Max,

Thanks and good point about the fault happening in both versions.

If I create a new build / comp .. there is no problem ..

So it must be something in the build I was working in.

Managed to patch through it and finalise the project but If I find out what has happened I’ll post on here.

Hi Dave,

No that doesn’t work, it used to!

I can select the layer with the selection tool .. nut impossible to select the text using TEXT tool.

Yes I am working at a bog standard resolution and I have cleared the cache, save the project to an earlier AE version, duplicate the comp and double-checked it, checked everything, quite strange ..

I am now rendering the problematic section and using a QT movie too replace it so I can get it out of the door ..

But not relieved the issue at all ..

I received the project build from a colleague working on PC with an earlier version of AE, 2015 I think, when I opened the project it has to be re-saved to my current version and there were some problems with XMP files but it made no sense .. I have rendered versions of this build with no problem yet now this problem persists ..

Hey Walter,

I hadn’t noticed that option button, that’s the fix! ☺

The options button on the import window opens this dialogue ..

My files imported correctly using the ‘options button’ and once I unchecked ‘import as sequence’ .. it now defaults to that.

I had a similar glitch the other day and had to jump back to CC2015 rectify it .. Have stuck with CS6 for years now as the CC stuff caused problems a while ago .. I know the project I’m currently working on doesn’t need any off the latest features so the easiest quick fix for me ..

I have used AE since its earliest days so something as basic as importing AI layered comps should just work ..
Any input is appreciated.

I also tried ‘Footage Dimensions as Layer Size’
