Problem Importing Illustrator File as COMPOSITION into AE .. Layers coming in as Image Sequence
Posted by Andy Jay on December 7, 2016 at 4:15 pmHi,
I am importing layered Illustrator Files as comps, either as comp size or as layer size, and when I open the comp, the layers are showing as image sequences .. They have a different icon than normal.I will attach a screen grab ..

I am using in AE cc 2017.
Yesterday this problem was not there …Anyone else experiencing this? Any help appreciated .. Just started a new project with a short deadline!
Thanks

December 7, 2016 at 4:35 pmHey,
You need to make sure that the Illustrator file is made in RGB mode and not CMYK.

December 7, 2016 at 9:19 pmThere’s no reason to go that far back. Your CC subscription includes all versions from CS6 onward and they can all be installed alongside each other. If you have to go back at all, I’d suggest the CC 2014 release.
That being said, CC 2017 should work fine for this. Can we see a screenshot of the import screen?

December 7, 2016 at 9:30 pmThanks Michael,
I had a similar glitch the other day and had to jump back to CC2015 rectify it .. Have stuck with CS6 for years now as the CC stuff caused problems a while ago .. I know the project I’m currently working on doesn’t need any off the latest features so the easiest quick fix for me ..
I have used AE since its earliest days so something as basic as importing AI layered comps should just work ..
Any input is appreciated. Here is the import screen shot –

I also tried ‘Footage Dimensions as Layer Size’
