Hi,
As much as you might want it to stay IR (Animation) I urge you to consider to use QMC. I had exactly the same problem, and no matter what I tryed to do, I couldn’t correct the problem.
Only after I used the QMC option, it went well.
If you are worried about the rendertime, QMC Still image will render fast as animation, and I didn’t have any problems such as you posted, as well as flickering of shadows. You can change the settings in the irradidance Cache from Medium to Low, if it deosn’t improve your rendertime, and it will still look good.Hope I could be at help

December 11, 2013 at 3:29 pm in reply to: physical render or vray or switch to learn maya for real world photo realistic renderI don’t know, didn’t really work so much with the Physical render, and AE compositions. I use more standard render and only is nessesary I use GI. It makes it easier for me to create compositions in AE. Also renders much faster (Excapt the GI of course).
I will try the vRay later on. Am busy right now, but hope to find the time soon.
Thanx

December 10, 2013 at 11:22 am in reply to: physical render or vray or switch to learn maya for real world photo realistic renderHi there,
Can you share a simple file with both settings?
I’m sure it is all about setting it up right.
There really is no difference for you using C4D/3dMax/Maya or so.
At the end its all about the right settings.Kind Regards

I did the same, I use R14 Demoversion to see what would happen. I got the same result in 13 and 14 demo version. the kernels look fine at the beginning, but when they pop up, they dont change anymore to the texture they should.
